Greetings,

My name is Jessica Prayer, and it is an honor to continue serving as the principal of Northside Elementary School. I am excited to welcome you to the 2025-2026 school year and look forward to working together to support our students’ growth and success. At Northside, home of the Bears, we are committed to providing a safe, joyful learning environment where every child can thrive.

Throughout my career in Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools, I have served as an Assistant Principal, Instructional Coach, Academically Gifted and Talented Facilitator, and classroom teacher. I have also been recognized as a Javits-Frasier Scholar by the National Association of Gifted Children and was selected to be part of the Governor’s Teachers’ Network in North Carolina.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Elizabeth City State University, a Master of Education from New York University, and a Master of School Administration from East Carolina University. These experiences, combined with my passion for education, continue to guide my work each day.

As we begin this new school year, I look forward to partnering with families, staff, and our community to ensure every Bear has the highest quality education. Please know that my door is always open. If you have questions or concerns, I encourage you to reach out.
